A Message to Our Patients

Dear Patient,

In an era when medicine is shifting toward managed care and patients are often becoming just a number, I want to rekindle the concept of the patient-doctor relationship and treat each patient as an individual with dignity and compassion. This is the reason I converted my practice to hybrid practice including concierge medicine, so that I can spend ample time with each individual and guide them through their healing process.

Having the ability to practice medicine is truly a gift and I take that most seriously as my patients put their trust in me for their health matters. I chose Internal Medicine and Endocrinology as my sub-specialty as it deals with disorders that are chronic and require lifelong management; and in turn, this allows me the privilege of forming lifelong bonds with my patients.

My goal is to practice evidence-based medicine, while focusing on the patient as not all therapies are for every patient. With this in mind, I feel that I will best be able to deliver a personalized degree of medical care in a concierge setting where I can fully evaluate each individual, understand their needs, and make an accurate diagnosis and personalized plan of care.

An endocrinologist is a professional who intensively studies hormones, how it affects all aspects of your body, and creates individualized treatment.

Endocrine glands include pancreas, adrenal, ovaries/testicles, pituitary, hypothalamus, and thyroid.  Endocrine disorders tend to be complicated because they affect other systems in the body.

Disorders due to an imbalance in your endocrine system include, but are not limited to osteoporosis, diabetes, growth disorders, low testosterone, infertility, and thyroid disorders.

Hormones do not only get imbalanced in women. Men, this is for you.  This shift in hormones is more subtle in men than in women; however, if left untreated it can lead to undesirable conditions.  Read more about Andropause and how to detect it and how to treat it.

Adrenal Disorders

When your adrenal gland is slightly out of balance, a myriad of physical unexplained ailments can pursue, such as headaches, fatigue, weight changes, electrolyte metabolism alteration and forgetfulness.  Find out more how to easily get your adrenal glands tested and get the help you need to feel your best.

Cardiovascular Risk Assessment

Do you know if you are at risk for a cardiac event?  Knowing through a Cardiovascular Risk Assessment will provide valuable insight into your overall health and get ahead of any potential heart associated diseases.

There are four types of Diabetes, and identifying which type you have is critical in the type of treatment you need and deserve.  Read more about Diabetes, different types, and treatment options available.

Hormone Balance

Hormones are the messengers that communicate to all physiological processes including your immune system.  When the delicate balance of hormones is even slightly off center, you will begin to feel tired, irritable, and anxious.

Have you had your blood pressure checked lately?  Hypertension is when someone has abnormally high blood pressure.  Blood pressure is the balance between how much blood the heart pumps and how much resistance it takes for the blood to flow throughout the arteries.  Many people with high blood pressure show no symptoms at all.

Menopause is a natural shift in hormones in women’s menstrual cycle that can start in as early as your 40’s.  Symptoms like weight gain, hot flashes, and irritability can occur suddenly and become distressful.  Menopause can be scary for many women, but with the right help, symptoms can be minimized.

Over time, bones may become porous, thin, and fragile.  Early detection of Osteoporosis is vital to slow the progression of this painless disease.  Click here to learn more about Osteoporosis and how to remain strong and vital well into your senior years.

Pediatric Growth Disease

Social acceptance and confidence are important to many young people. Pediatric growth disease is noticed shortly after birth, but symptoms may not show for several years. There may be an underlying condition.  To find out more, click here.

Pituitary Disorders

The pituitary gland is tiny, but it is responsible for daily function of many organs in the body.  It is known as the master gland. If the gland is producing too many hormones or too little, a diagnosis must be confirmed through questions and imaging.  Do not let this small gland cause havoc in your life.  Click here to find out more.

Preventive Medicine

Your health is too important to wait until you are sick to get care.  Preventive Medicine means that your health care professional gets to know you and to access physical and mental evaluations so that you can live your best life.  Find out more by clicking this link.

Thyroid & Parathyroid Disease

Every cell in your body depends on the thyroid glands functioning properly.  When thyroid glands are not working at optimum levels, symptoms are often so mild that they are often ignored until they become severe.  To find out more about thyroid function and parathyroid disease, go here.

Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA)

Many thyroid nodules do not need any intervention; but some of these benign nodules are large enough to cause cosmetic issues and symptoms associated with compression and need intervention – usually traditional surgery.  The good news is that Radio Frequency Ablation is a non-surgical treatment that can shrink a thyroid nodule up to 80% and still retain normal function of the thyroid.

Benign thyroid nodules that are visible and/or affect your voice may make you a good candidate for this non-surgical treatment.  Click here for more information about Radio Frequency Ablation and how you can benefit from this easy treatment.

“I have seen Dr. Nikravan for five years and he is professional and concise. Treating me for a considerable amount of time I feel he has been very helpful and I would not be as healthy now if I had not come to him.”

Karyn P.Anaheim, CA

“Excellent experience with Dr. Nikravan. After 15 years as a type 2 diabetic, my blood glucose and triglycerides are finally under control as a result of new medications, diet supplements and lifestyle changes prescribed by Dr. Nikravan under his dynamic monitoring program. Changes that usually take 3 months were accomplished in 7 weeks, with more improvement expected.”

Richard M.Newport Beach, CA

“I’ve been a patient of Dr. Nikravan’s for at least 4 years now. I found him through a colleague’s mom, who is a nurse and knew Dr. Nikravan. Because of my thyroid issue, I see Dr. Nikravan every three months I like him because he’s professional and responsible and you feel you are in good hands. He is attentive and focuses the consultation on my needs.”
